True to his roots, Kurtis was born in Bellingham, WA and exemplifies the Pacific Northwest dream – he roasts coffee on his back porch, wears Birkenstock sandals a majority of the year, and in a perfect world would sleep on top of a mountain every night. Kurtis graduated from Whitworth University in 2015 in a pursuit to use business as a tool to change lives. He believes empowerment is essential for transformation, and is committed to giving young people, especially those on the outskirts, opportunities for development. He hopes to better partner with the Spokane community to create experiences for youth to get job training, internships, further education, and involvement in outdoor recreation.
When we consider the gospel message in it’s simplest form, we hear that our Creator loves us right here, right now. Our God wants to reconcile and restore our relationships and speak truth to each one of us. Kurtis is in awe that he has been given the opportunity to help share this message of truth and life to the West Central neighborhood. His mission is to wildly and recklessly love the kids of this city in the same way he is so outrageously loved by God.
