Jeremy Stebbins
Unified Underground

Jeremy Stebbins is carrying out a mission to disciple skateboarders. He was first inspired towards this at the Portland Skate Church at the age of 12 and became involved with Boarders for Christ in Spokane as a teenager. Now, he shares the Word of God at skate parks, and mentors young leaders to do the same.

In 2012, Jeremy and his wife Cheryl found Youth For Christ Spokane after feeling led to invest in teens from alternative scenes. Together they volunteered at the youth center in Hillyard, and formed relationships with kids using art and skateboarding as connecting points. After graduating from Spokane Falls Community College and taking a couple years off school, Jeremy went to The Evergreen State College and came back to Spokane with his BA in 2015. He led a cabin at YFC high school camp that summer, and in September of 2015, Cheryl and Jeremy welcomed their daughter Miriam into the world.

On the first 10/10 Unified Underground Skate/Surf trip, he realized anew his passion and for skate ministry adventures and telling God’s story. The shared sense of wonder at creation combined with the exploration of new skate parks as a community unlocked a deep joy that had been dormant for nearly a decade. As the Spokane Unified Underground chapter Skate Ministry Director, Jeremy has a vision for inspiring skater kids with God’s big and marvelous story, which they are a vital part of. This is Jeremy’s tribe, and he is cheering them on, raising their banner in Jesus name.
